The Depot is our post 16 site for our Construction and Vocational studies BTEC course, located in Avonmouth.
Welcome to our POST 16 training page!
Discovery Education now offers two Post 16 courses. Our 'Construction' course is delivered in our fantastic venue 'The Old Bus Depot' in Avonmouth Village, along with our Pre Vocational course.
Our offer
We offer a specially designed post 16 programme to our students.
We suggest students attend a minimum of two days a week, however three days a week for the academic year is recommended to allow the optimum possibility of gaining all the available qualifications:
Construction
Our new ‘Construction’ package offers the following:
- Level 1 Introductory in Construction
- Functional Skills English
- Functional Skills Maths
- First Aid at Work Qualification
- CSCS Card application
- CITB HS&E test
- ‘Live’ site visits and real time work experience with local building contractors
This course is perfect for anyone looking to enter the world of construction. Delivered at our Avonmouth site, students will learn the skills and gain the qualifications to allow them to move into employment upon completion.
Vocational Studies - Education Focus
Our ‘Vocational studies’ course offers the following:
- Pre-vocational Studies
- Functional Skills English
- Functional Skills Maths
- First Aid at Work Qualification
- NCFE Cache Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools
- ‘Live’ site visits and real time work experience with Discovery Education Alternative Learning Provision sites.
This course is perfect for students looking to venture into the world of child care, education and teaching. Also delivered at our Avonmouth site, but with opportunities to visit and learn from other 'live' sites. Students will gain a vast amount of experience in a specialist teaching environment, as well gaining valuable qualifications sought out by employers.
